PETITE TRIXTON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2300m. Hung inwards leaving the 1600m and then broke hampering trailing runners losing ground. Trotted roughly passing the 1100m losing contact with the field hampering a trailing runner.

MEGABAND - out of position at the start. Stood down for mobile starts pending a satisfactory trial. Lay in and lost ground rounding the first turn. Continued to lay in at various stages. Trainer B Mangos advised that he will be turning the gelding out for a spell.

MEGABAND - broke in the early stages losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.

CLOVELLY HILL - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. Driver R Close did not contest the protest and CLOVELLY HILL was disqualified by the Stewards.

ASPIRATIONAL DREAM - over-raced middle stages. Held up late in the run home. Cast the off hind shoe passing the 150m. Driver J Morrison advised he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.

OLIVER - broke after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing considerable ground.

A REASON TO FIGHT - broke for a considerable distance racing into the first bend and lost ground after striking the sulky wheel of OLIVER which shifted inwards when insufficiently clear. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and spoken to driver S McNally who confirmed his horse had broken as a result of suffering interference. After considering the matter which was evident on the replays, Stewards exercised discretion in accordance with the Breaking Horses Regulation by not disqualifying the horse from the race.
